This is great on all cakes, and especially nice as filling for sponge cake roll.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1160371074353452445.post-18424513892795292792013-02-13T09:58:33.450-08:002013-02-13T09:58:33.450-08:00Ermine frosting is by far my favorite! How long did you cool it for before you added it to the butter? Was it almost room temp?
Also, how long does it take to get light and fluffy after you combine the milk and butter? I've tried a different version of this before but it was always really dense and almost pudding-y. Firmed up fine after throwing it in the fridge, but I wouldn't really call it fluffy. Hope you can help! :)

-TAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1160371074353452445.post-18233412590743694822012-06-08T11:54:12.604-07:002012-06-08T11:54:12.604-07:00Mary, I haven't tried to add fruit into the fr...Mary, I haven't tried to add fruit into the frosting. I actually found your blog because I was trying to figure out how to add flavors to it, such as blueberry without just putting the fruit on top. I notice you use fruit on yours but have you tried putting it in there?Maryhttp://meltingpotcook.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1160371074353452445.post-78392687903949336572012-05-28T10:28:34.420-07:002012-05-28T10:28:34.420-07:00I've made this frosting for a long time, and s...I've made this frosting for a long time, and sometimes it works out better than others.
