Gone Fishin'

My mom and I have left for a two week vacation together. We're going to be housesitting for some friends and it will be some together time for the two of us.

I'll have access to a computer but I can't promise anything and certainly there will be no photographs until I return.

The past few days have been spent preparing for the trip, doing orientation for the new job and moving all my blog feeds to Google Reader. In case you haven't heard, Bloglines is shutting down. I'm curious as to how you manage the list of blogs that you follow. Bloglines states that the writing was on the wall concerning feed readers and that everyone is using Twitter.

Really?

Everyone?

That must mean I'm no one because I don't Twitter, I don't tweet and I guess the world is passing me by once again.

Behave yourselves while I'm gone. Feel free to conduct a Monday Morning Staff Meeting without me!

Have fun!!
I don't Twitter either. I have an igoogle homepage with all the blogs I follow, and my hotmail. I love it.

I don't tweet, and I seldom do whatever the verb form of Facebook is.

I read most of my blogs through my Google reader, I have a widget on my igoogle home page that shows me whever someone posts.

Have fun on your trip! I don't understand all of the computer terminology. Just make sure to leave directions on how to find you if you "move"!

No, I don't tweet either. Silly word. :D

Your job must begin for the holiday season since you are able to take this time. I'm so glad that you can and I hope that you'll have a lot of fun.

Have a great time!!!

I am old school and read each blog by visiting the actual site, one by one. I just use my bookmarks to organize all of my reads in a folder. Yes, maybe I waste some time visiting blogs that haven't been updated yet. I'm okay with that. :)

I use Google Reader and I love it. The search option totally rocks since I can never remember who posted the yummy recipe six months ago for doughnuts or had a pic of a clothesline that I really liked.
I don't twitter. Don't ever plan on it, either.
Have a great vacation!

Have a lovely time with your mom.
I use Google Reader. Works well for me. I don't tweet and don't plan on tweeting. I don't have a face book account either. I'm an old stick in the mud and likely to remain one. I do enjoy following select blogs though.

I'm not going to lie I do use twitter. Its very conversational but a huge huge time suck.

I'm heartbroken about bloglines. Don't care for Google reader as much. I wish it would consider a feed read if I click on it.. but I guess you get what you pay for. I hear feedly is good, but dont' want to switch to firefox to use it.

Have a great time. Man I hope blogs aren't dead, but it is getting harder to fill mine up. How many times can I photograph my cup of coffee and say I'm sewing and have it still be interesting. Probably about 3 more times, and that's if I start pulling mugs from the back of the cabinet.

Oh Bloglines. I stopped using it because I found a firefox plug in called 'feedly' that I really like, but it uses your google reader subscriptions.

What a shame about Bloglines though, it was my trusty reader for ages! I feel bad for leaving.

Have a great trip :)
