Good morning everyone! Did you get the memo that Monday morning's meeting was moved to Wednesday? I hope so.
The first thing on the agenda (always first on the agenda) is what's on the banquet table to snack on while we hold our meeting. This morning we're going to have Klondike bars. Yep, ice cream for breakfast.
You might think twice about grabbing one because they are terrible. Simply awful.
OK, that's a lie, a ploy to keep you from buying them which means that they'll be more for me. This new a new flavor, Caramel Pretzel and they are awesome! The ice cream is creamy smooth caramel, with ribbons of more caramel running through. They chocolate shell is delicious, with just the right sweetness and imbedded in the chocolate are bits of crumbled pretzels. Sweet and salty, which is a wonderful combination.
I'm not kidding when I say they're addicting. If you eat one in the evening I promise that you'll spend all the next day thinking about them. It will take all you will power to hold out till evening to have another one.
Caramel Pretzel Klondikes are awesome, and unfortunately for me no one has paid me to say that. HA!

Have you seen the video about the sea water icicle called a brinicle? Omigosh. This is from the new BBC show called Frozen Planet and produced by the same people who gave us planet earth. The icicle is formed downwards, like a stalactite and the time lapse photography is mysterious and beautiful. Narrator Alec Baldwin explains the science of how this happens but honestly, I don't care, I just want to watch it happen.
Here's a link to the video at Huffington Post. It's been removed from You Tube and other sites.

Lately I'm addicted to watching British period pieces on Netflix while I toil away in my sewing room. Have you seen it? It's filled with lots of characters, drama and costumes and scenery to drool over. It's kind of an updated Upstairs, Downstairs.
Another good British show is Land Girls, about women who went to the countryside to help farm to feed the nation during World War II. I've watched Rob Roy with Jessica Lang and Liam Neeson. It's a good Scottish tale and heavens I did not realize how tall Neeson is.
For good measure I watched Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis. Love the musical score from that one.
How about you? What are watching? Are you

If you look on the sidebar you'll notice that beside the part-time job I hold outside of the house I've added another Etsy shop called Jack and Jill. It's all kinds of stuff for babies. More to come as I get the photography done. I had a very successful craft fair about a month ago and was invited to participate in a local farmer's market selling my aprons, dishcloths and other related items. I'm hoping this venture will be successful and I'll be able to work out of my home. Wish me luck.

Here's a question for you? Do you spring clean? Do you have a big blowout cleaning routine? I'm just continuing with my closet cleaning/painting/organizing campaign. Unfortunately, spring came early to northern Illinois which means I spend lots of time on the hard tractor mowing the two acres. I prefer that washing windows.

OK, that's all for today. Thanks for stopping by. Grab another Klondike bar, it's sure to make your day.

Adorable hats in your new shop! My favorite is also the bluebird flap. No movies for me lately but will check out the video you posted. Will have to try that new bar after Lent is over. Good luck with your shop....good stuff in there.
I will have to look for those bars the next time I am in the grocery. Need to get on the new mower and do the lawn, but also need to finish fitting the field next to the house for a hay planting. Love your crafts.
Pam
Same here, spring too early and now the mowing before my quilt is finished and now it is cleaning for Easter dinner and mowing.
So glad you are back to your blog, no matter how fleeting. I loved watching the brinacle--super cool. I had never seen starfish move before.
Spring cleaning is something I must do because I vegged all winter. I spent last Saturday moving everything in my living room that I could and dusting and vacuuming behind and under.
Don't know when I will get back to the cleaning as the mother woman will be having a hysterectomy at age 78 due to a tumor on right ovary. Didn't see that one coming!
Pray for me!!

I started watching Land Girls last week. I'm really enjoying it.
Here we mow the lawns all year long, but that's not my job cuz I'm a wimpy girl and besides I was banned from using any outdoor tools involving blades or sharp moving objects.... after the weed whacker incident of 1994. Well sheesh, you have one little mishap that results in 27 holes in your leg and all of a sudden you lose privileges. Ha. I am SO sad to not get to mow or whack anything anymore. :) But never fear, I'm allowed to handle the rake.
How fun... Love the MMM whenever it occurs.
That brinicle looks like something from Harry Potter...kind of scary.
No I do not Spring clean... I do clean a little, now and again. Why would I clean especially for Spring? We are going to have the windows open as much as possible, and that lets in lots of dust - why clean before that. I'd say you should do Spring Cleaning right before winter hits, when the people will be confined in the house, doors and windows shut, and the dust of summer, and leaf mold of fall accumulated. (Times have changed since there was a spring cleaning necessary, and well, I'm confused, what was the reason for spring cleaning anyway? You are going to spend time outside now... any reason I can put off cleaning, I'll take it.
Thanks for the Klondike bar... Have you tried the Magnums? (There's a reason there are 2 Ms in the word.)
Hugs!!!!
Funny you should mention Klondike bars ... I don't cook. Nothing. Na Da. So I was asked to bring dessert while having lunch with a friend who's in the latter stages of breast cancer. Klondike Bars were my choice, and I couldn't have made that sweet lady happier.
I spring cleaned yesterday and as I rested today, I thought, "The Fans. I forgot the fans. Oh, well, maybe before next winter starts!"
The Klondike Bars are delicious. That is a yummy flavor combo!
And the baby stuff...Adorable! You are so talented. Now, I must find a baby to buy stuff for. The big downside of not having kids is that you miss out on grandkids too.
I listen to the BBC Radio 4 Extra at work. Drama, comedy, classic books. I am currently listening to "The Body on the Beach", a murder mystery, while I organize a big mailing, labeling and stuffing a gazillion envelopes. Makes the task great fun. At home, I love to watch Masterpiece anything, and netflixed "Prime Suspect" recently. Helen Mirren is great!
It's very easy to wish you all the best with any endeavor. I know first hand that you do quality work!
Klondike bars √
Have you been watching "Downton Abbey"? I am missing that one. I did watch "Little Dorrit" on PBS yesterday, but sometimes the Dickens period specials are soooo dark...visually and every way.
Off to visit your new store. What delights await...
I'm sure that you're curious about why I'm scrolling up and down and zipping in and around. I'm looking for any news of the book swap. Do you have any idea where it is now and if any have done a post on it? I don't see anything with Google either.
Oh, btw, LOVE the bluebird cap and if John's new great-grand turns out to be a girl...well, I 'll be in touch.
I haven't had opportunity to check in for awhile; I had some catching up to do! :)
Love the idea of ice cream for breakfast. And Klondike Bars are worth the indulgence.
I saw the brinicle. I love shows like that. Our planet is fascinating. I also love the British shows. One of my newly found favourites is Dr. Who. I've only started watching it in the last few months and I love it. It combines science fiction with a British sense of humour.
I have two BBC series that I've recently watched that I strongly recommend. The first is a series that has been going for 5 or 6 seasons called Wild at Heart. Set in S. Africa. I believe Netflix has it.
The second came out this year but I would bet either PBS will pick it up and/or Netflix. It's called "Call the Midwife"
I thought both of these programs entertaining and well worth watching.
Glad you are back on the blog - missed you.
Toni
