Please keep them in your thoughts

I've been watching the storm track for Hurricane Ike. You'll find it here:

Hurricane Ike Storm Watch

If you look at the top corner you'll see a box where you can click on the button that turns the forecast models ON. You'll see colored tracks of the different forecast models.

Regardless of the model, Ike is going to steam it's way across Cuba from one end to the other. Residents are still cleaning up from Gustav.

Yoani Sanchez, blogging from Havana, describes it here:

Yoani Sanchez - Generation Y

This woman is one of my heros. She is living in her native Cuba and trying to make a difference from the bottom up. It's unfortunate that the government will not allow citizens to gather their resources and help each other. It is forbidden.

If Yoani can't find internet access she usually phones someone to dictate her updates.

Please keep the people in Cuba and those in the path as it steams toward the U.S. coast in your thoughts and prayers.

I really don't know how the people of Cuba survive these damaging storms time after time without the kind of resources we are so lucky to have! I definitely keep them in my prayers.

We were just commenting on poor Cuba. They do get the brunt of a lot of these storms. I'll check out the blog (because you do find the bestest stuff!)

They're certainly have been, and still are, in my thoughts and prayers. As are those in Loisianna and Texas, who look as tough they are now in Ike's path.

He's weakened somewhat, but is forcasted to gain strength again, maybe to a Cat 3. Not good.

Yoani's site lookss very interesting. Am going to explore it further...

Thank you for providing this link...I used your Gustav link all that day to keep up. It was much better than any other information we were getting.

The last time I was waiting for my car, two months ago, they were showing a bowling tournament from the seventies.
The bowlers had mullets which I found fascinating.
