Good Morning everyone, and welcome to the Monday morning staff meeting. This week it's actually being held on a Monday.
Sorry, there's no food this morning as I was busy tiling walls instead of baking something wonderful for you. Maybe you have something in the kitchen you could share with the group.
The tile is progressing but you'll have to use your imagination because I'm having difficulties with my photo card reader. I probably need a new one.
UPDATE: After a lightning storm in the early morning hours the card reader decided to work. Here are the photos:
I'm not happy with the wall color in the laundry room, which is a goldish/yellowish shade. The overall effect is affected by the fact that there's a vine covered porch outside the room that casts a greenish glow. I thought perhaps I'll repaint with a shade of green. What do you think?

The new sewing machine is humming along and for those of you who asked for a review I can honestly say that at this point in time I'm really happy with the operation and features. The only trouble I've had is that it doesn't seem to sew smoothly over thick fabric layers, but that's what I have Beverly for.
The decorative stitches are especially nice. I'm busy producing.

As far as my blogging friends are concerned, here are a few highlights:
- Suzanne McMinn is hatching eggs. As I kid I vividly remember trips to the Museum of Science and Industry where we watched eggs hatching in their display. Suzanne's video is fascinating. Those chicks are packed tightly into that egg. I get claustrophobia just watching their sitaution.
- - Joani Sanchez is defending free speech again. She has something important to say. I cannot imagine living under her conditions and I must remind myself constantly that I take these things for granted.
Wireless Revolution in Cuba
- My blogging friend Lisa is back in the U.S. Her blog Desert Fences was about her life in Saudi Arabia with her Saudi husband and her family. There was some considerable drama concerning her daughter's passport. Now they're living back in the U.S. in a wonderful country home and she's started a new blog called, The Other Side of the Fence. Welcome back Lisa. Best wishes for happiness in your new home.

It's about time for another video but I can't decide on subject matter. I went into my You Tube account and discovered that one of my videos had 2,800 views which is simply crazy because the number of people generally view my videos could fit into a phone booth...... well, if they made phone booths anymore.
This is the exciting, THRILLING video that garnered all the views.
See what I mean? What the heck?

This is going to be a busy week here "At Home....". Tomorrow I'm going to be sponsoring a giveaway. It's a good one, so don't miss it. On Friday we'll be going on a fun field trip and there will be another giveaway in connection with that trip. Are you feeling lucky?

Nothing exciting like tiling walls or youtube videos, but I did have to worm my cats yesterday.
I have hung laundry on the line, cooked, cleaned, etc.
I am not exciting.
I even had corn flakes for breakfast.
I'm so vanilla.
NOthing fell off the side of the road, so far as I know - the sun is shining and hopefully the day stays peaceful.
How about a slice of the season's first fresh black raspberry pie? As hard as it will be for me, I will share!
hey! I'm back. And I don't have a note from my mom either...are demerit points assessed for unexcused absences?
Besides catching up on my never-scaled mountain of laundry (hey - I made some homemade soap too!) I am on "crea watch" for my neighbor. For those unfamiliar with the term, a crea is a baby alpaca. Their faces are too adorable! http://www.alpacanation.com/farmsandbreeders/03_viewfarm.asp?name=12009
I also get to hose down the alpacas if it gets too hot.
Maybe not exciting, but certainly unusual.
Just found your blog from Southern Fried Mama and love it! Happy tiling! I thought I was the only one 9 miles from anything LOL!
So cute of the chicks. I just wanted to reach through the screen and give that little guy a hand. It must be exhausting!
Gosh, I must be "extra vanilla", becasue I didn't even have the excitement of worming my cats....Although, I did recently skim some slugs out of the pool!
Oh my......I can bet that accident w/the corn planter costs some big $$$.
Exciting...YES!!!!!!!!
My Grandson graduates High School this Thursday night. So we must leave about 3pm for the 1 hr. 45 min. drive! Back home and do the same drive on Sun. for his Party!
And my only sister and her hubby is coming from Michigan to visit for the weekend and to go to the PARTY!
Gave my dog "Buddy" his monthly
Sentenil pill med. today!
I like your new sewing machine! I have 2......one an ancient Kenmore, the newer one w/fancy stitches is a Singer. Mainly use for mending.
Not boring here.....I like it though when it's an even keel day!
I've been making be-bop-a-rhubarb juice!
Thank you for the shout out!
Just wanted to mention - on the paint color...
I love the sage green colors on the second sample! In our master bedroom, I painted all the walls a bold green color (Sweet Annie C11-4 - you can see it here: http://www.olympic.com/pdf/paint/wine_country.pdf).
At any rate it was scary going on, but the back of the bedroom has a large French door and the green on the walls literally pulls the outside in. It's just beautiful.
I definitely say go green, but since your space in a laundry room is probably smaller, one of those nice, light sage shades would be lovely!
Good luck on that tile! :o)
