Make a Joyful Noise

Make a joyful noise. - Psalm 100

The other day I was taking some time out of my sewing to catch up on some of my favorite blogs and I came across something amazing over at Heather's Mindless Junque.

The video made me think. How do we define a joyful noise?

It also made me realize that the older I get, the younger I get. What do I mean by that? I was a very serious young person, not ever letting loose and really feeling joy. I didn't know who I was and spent alot of time being what I thought other people wanted me to be.

My hope is that as we all get older we shed those bindings that keep us from feeling free and joyful. I don't want any crabby senior citizens out there. They exist, I know that for sure but I'm determined not to be one of them. I'm determined to open my heart to young people and their exuberance.

What do you think? Is this wonderful? Is this disrespectful of the somber wedding tradition?

I don't think so! I think is one of the most joyful expressions I've seen in a long time.

The story behind it is that the bride is a dancer, dancing her whole life and through college. She's always wanted to dance up the aisle. Her fiance thought it was a great idea. They shared the idea with their parents, who were apprehensive but didn't try to stop them. They practiced for a hour and a half. Kudos to the pastor who agreed.

If you look closely towards the end of the video, you will see the grooms grandmother (very, very old) clapping her hands and bouncing to the music. Hooray for her!

Here are excerpts of the lyrics from Forever by Chris Brown. (I know, I know..... controversy surrounding him, but this isn't about him).

It`s you
And me
Movin` at the speed of light until eternity

We can go anywhere
But first, it's your chance
to take my hand.
Come with me.
It's like I've waited my whole life
for this one night.

Feel like we're on another level
It's like our love's intertwined.
We can be two rebels
breaking the rules.
Me and you.
You and I.

Dancing forever,
forever, forever.

Congratulations to Jill and Kevin. I know some of my blogging friends would love to be at that wedding.

One would wear her purple tutu and another would don her red dancing shoes!!!

Joy - find some for yourself. Do something fun. Dance like no one's watching. Cut your hair. Buy red shoes.

We only got one life.
