Monday Morning Staff Meeting

How was your weekend? I hope it was jam packed with fun.

We're going to get started even though Heidi and Schnitzel have not yet arrived. They met up in person yesterday and I'm sure there was a lot of talking and some good food involved. They probably decided to sleep late, although I know that being a Milk Man's wife means that her normal wake up time is somewhere around 4 a.m. YIKES! That's early.

I would have loved to have been able to join up with them but it wasn't in the cards for me this time around.

This morning we're having crystal bowls filled with strawberry shortcake.

There are plenty of berries and whipped cream to go around. Help yourself. There's also coffee and juice. I'll continue to talk while you're eating, OK?

I wanted to answer the question about the paint color I've chosen for my sewing room/studio. It's a shade called Morning Fog by Olympic Paints. It's a pale blue with a very light turquoise cast.

We used this in our master bedroom closet and I love the color so much I decided it deserved an entire room.

Here's someone you must meet. Her name is Rachel and she's a wonderful character. You know how much I love cars and Rachel has driven her Comet Caliente for over 500,000 miles! Be sure to pay attention to her opinion about testing senior citizens for driving skills. She's a hoot.

It's time to giveaway that vintage strainer that I picked up at the barn sale.

Watch me pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Barb - SFO, you're the winner! Contact me via e-mail and I'll make arrangements to get it into the mail.

Thanks everyone for participating. It's not the first giveaway and it's certainly not the last! This Friday we'll actually be going on a Road Trip (not too far) and there will be another giveaway. Don't miss it.

My friend Ruby has asked for the floor. She has something she wants to say. I'll just call this feature....RUBY SAYS.

Well, hello readers! It's Ruby here. Suzanne has said I can come to the meeting and speak my mind.

Fasten your seatbelts kiddies because I'm set to go off like a cheap bottle rocket. I know you're all sick of hearing about them but no matter, I want to spout off about John and Kate the poor little eight.

OK, now let me get this straight. He hasn't had a job in two years and he's driving a hot new sports car. I see that he was walking around France this weekend with his girlfriend that wasn't his girlfriend. Stinking France! Not France, Indiana... France, France!

Kate's claiming she's got a career, as a writer. Hmmmmm, well, her books were written "with" Beth Carson. I sure didn't see Beth along on any of those signing tours. She's living in a 1.5 million dollar home her kids are playing in $5,000 Crooked Houses that were freebies and I'm just wondering.......

we're supposed to relate to these people, HOW exactly?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Thank Ruby. You be sure to come back any time to let us know your opinion on current events.

Thanks everyone for joining me at another Monday Morning Staff Meeting.

Now, I'm turning the floor over to you. What's on YOUR mind?

Well, my Monday Morning Meeting with Myself (like that consonance?) had me resolving to diet--you know, one must start diets on Monday...anyway, then along comes along your strawberry shortcake picture!! Talk about spoiling the mood! Looks great! Thanks for sharing--loved Ruby. C

I love Rachel and want to grow up and old to be exactly like her. Makes me wish I still had my '67 Mercury Cougar.

Suzanne, we talked about you often yesterday and missed you. Perhaps you can come up next fall when we come through again. Heidi had wonderful salads and has no reason to hang head. We enjoyed them so much--and the great deviled eggs!!! My daughter saw the picture I took and wondered how I could have left the farm without MilkDud!!

I loved the video and I too want to be just like her when I'm, ah-hem, older.

Oooo don't even get me started on the whole Jon and Kate thing. Using your own kids to make a buck. Look how it totally messed up Michael Jackson. He had real mental illness issues from being used when young.

haha...Ruby's great! At the beginning of John & Kate I thought they were totally relatable (is that a word?), but now it's a joke. I don't relate at all. I don't watch anymore because it would be like watching a train wreck. I feel bad for the children. Their parents should really take stock of their lives and realize that at some point they lost their way and it became all about the money. Oh, am I ranting? Sorry!
The strawberry shortcake looks great...can we have seconds?

Now I truly enjoyed meeting Rachel. She's an incredible woman and I only wish that I were just like her. She's absolutely correct about testing for the elderly, too. Love her spunk. Speaking of spunk...that Ruby! I don't even know anything about what she was talking about beyond the tabloids in the checkout lane, but she should come to Monday Morning Staff Meetings whenever she wants.

Strawberry Shortcake, I don't think there is a better thing to wake up to on a Monday, well except kid kisses. I just want to put dibs on the whipped cream can when everyone is done...need to squirt some in my mouth. Have a great rest of the day. Love Ruby, she tells it like we think.

RE: Shortcake--delicious! I have to skip the whip to stay on the diet, but the berries are wonderful!
RE: Jon & Kate--it's funny how all these 'reality' families start out being like normal folks, but the millions they get from the shows change everything. They start out scrimping and just getting by, then by season 3, they're taking lavish vacations to Hawaii or the whole brood goes to Disney. If they gave up the show, they might actually be able to rediscover the "riches" they had before fame. If they *do* divorce, are people going to be interested in watching "Jon & Kate Share Custody of 8"?

Thanks for the shortcake. Wish we were all sewing later today with Tammy at her shop. Wouldn't that be fun?
