Monday Morning Staff Meeting

How was your weekend? I hope it was good.

As I mentioned yesterday, we had a picnic to attend and I thought you'd like to seem some pictures.

Lots of people showed up.

We played Bingo and ate lots of good food including pulled pork barbecue, brisket, homemade macaroni and cheese and potato salad. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pics of the food. We were too busy eating!

Jack hands out raw eggs for the egg toss.

Before blowing the whistle he makes sure everyone knows the rules.

If the egg sails over your head, grandpa is allowed to try and save the catch.

It's all slimy if the egg breaks when you catch it.

Everyone lines up for the water balloon toss.

A good time was had by all.

Do you remember when the Sock Monkey kit was sent off to Steph? Well, she made the sock monkey and named him Henry.

Henry has become quite the globe trotter. His latest adventure was camping in the Smoky Mountains.

Check it out:

I'm sorry there's nothing here to eat this morning. I was so tired from all the fresh air at the picnic, I just couldn't drag myself into the kitchen. Maybe you have something you could share. We could certainly cobble together some kind of breakfast.

w00t! Another church cookbook to grace my cookbook shelf! I can't wait to delve into it! Thank you!

I'll scramble some fresh eggs up for our staff meeting if someone wants to make the toast. Oh, I have some homemade strawberry-rhubarb jam to put on it, too.

I'll toast up some of my hubby's homemade bread and bring along a bowl of watermelon and canteloupe. Mmmm...I love breakfast!

No problem re: no treats for the staff meeting. I'm fighting off a sinus infection and eating is the last thing I want to do anyhow.
Working on a resume (for someone else, I do that...) this morning, may drag myself out of the house to buy cat food if Muffin guilts me into it, and that's IT for the day!

Looks like a nice picnic. I'll take some of Ang's scrambled eggs. We had a nice weekend ourselves, full of chores (fun ones) and hanging out around the farm.

I love the nostalgia of an old-fashioned picnic -- what a wonderful weekend you had! I am battling the deer and other critters eating my garden at the FLW house in St. Joe. Still enjoying the season!

What great fun! Congrats to Ang, too! I love the way they included Grandpas in the "save." Oh you must've laughed yourselves silly. Good capture on that toss!

I'll get the coffee going and the kettle too. Your choice of tea; Red Rose, Mariage Freres Lady Earl Grey.
That looks like a wonderful picnic with the perfect amount of family and fun, and food.
This week, get window estimate for failed window, work some extra hours, maybe make freezer jam, read To Kill a Mockingbird. Also trying to get more lefse recipes to compare.

I haven't enjoyed a good old fashioned picnic for ages. Now I'm hungry for potato salad. I baked butterscotch Skor bar cookies this morning, so here's a plate of cookies to add to this morning's fare. Hope I'm not too late ... it's after 11 am here already!

I slept in so I had "brunch" Strawberry shortcake. The buttermilk biscuit, the fruit--strawberries-- and the dairy--whipped cream. Can't I rationalize most things?

Jack looks really familiar. does he live around these parts?

Who doesn't love a good picnic, my husband usually takes his Tupperware thing that looks like a grade school lunch tray, that way he can pile on the food and not have to worry about missing anything!I'll share some fresh picked raspberries--and thats where I'll be spending my time this week--in the raspberry patch!
