Monday Morning Staff Meeting

Is it Monday again? I can't believe how time is flying. Christmas is upon us.

This morning we're going to be having something very delicious. Perhaps it's something you might like to serve on Christmas morning. It's a cinnamon-apple French toast casserole.

Come back tomorrow and I'll give you the recipe and show you how it's assembled. If you love cinnamon toast, you'll love this dish.

Do you plan a special breakfast for Christmas morning?

This Thursday in my neighbor Jacki's cookie exchange party. Do you participate on one of these? it's a lot of fun and you come away with 10 dozen cookies of different varieties. The only problem is that you must bake 10 dozen cookies.

I've seriously got to get busy on this task. My plan is to make sugar cookies using these cookie cutters that I found several weeks ago.

I'm not going to decorate them as intricate as the sample photo on the packaging. I've learned to budget my time in that regard.

Things have been very crazy/busy around here and I apologize for not having the time to visit with you as you update your blogs. Everything runs in cycles and I am sure that things will slow down and I'll be able to catch up on all the news.

Don't forget, if you're looking for a last minute Christmas gift, I've got new items every day. Check the sidebar for my shop offerings. Thanks to all who have supported my little home-based business. I greatly appreciate the opportunities.

I hope that this finds you warm and cozy. Winter has officially arrived and we're in a survival mode.

Surviving until spring brings warmth once again.

That's all for me today. I'm turning the meeting over to you. Anything you'd like to discuss?

My blog was about you today.

For breakfast on Christmas morning, we generally have a breakfast casserole.

This year I'm adding baked oatmeal too.

That French Toast Casserole looks delicious. I can't wait to see the recipe.
We always have a special breakfast on Christmas morning. As a kid, we were allowed to open our stockings when we woke up, then presents had to wait until after breakfast and reading the Christmas story from the Bible. I've carried on that tradition with my own children.
I enjoy doing cookie exchanges. I find it interesting to try a variety of different cookies that I may not normally bake. With little kids, I find, I tend to get stuck in the familiarity rut. The same old chocolate chip cookies, quick brownies, or basic cupcakes all the time. A cookie exchange is a great excuse to make something special, and try something new. I love those cookie cutters, too, by the way.

Suzanne, your breakfast French Toast Casserole sounds incredible! I will definitely make it during the holiday.

You have some wonderful cookie cutters that would add a great look to any cookie tray. I recently posted about having to make over 10,000 decorated sugar cookies several years ago. Check it out, there may be a tip or two to help your baking easier.

You have a wonderful blog and I always enjoy reading what is happening in your part of the country. Many thanks for this terrific breakfast recipe. Happy Holidays!

OH CHIC!! Your blog post today is terrific. What a wonderful model you have found! Baked oatmeal?? Do tell.

Lisa - I love your traditions. The kids will always treasure these type of things, believe me.

George - Thanks for the heads up. I couldn't find the story about decorating 10,000 cookies. THAT'S CRAZY!! Please give us a link to the story because I'm sure everyone wants to read about it. I did snag your icing recipe. YUM.
