Two Dog Night

Photobucket

It's very cold here in the midwest. Nineteen degrees last night but it seemed much colder. Every window feels like it's wide open and I've been pouring over the J.C. Penney catalog looking at insulated drapes.

The Farmer and I snuggled close.

It was a two dog night.

Pancho and Cisco keep warm.

I think it was a two long-horned steer night too!

I think we spend an inordinate amount of time talking about the weather. One thing's for sure, it's never boring!

Sorry about the cold.

I abhor being cold.

The sound of the snow crunch told me it was well below zero here yesterday. The dogs are adorable and those steers are amazing!
(I enjoy your blog)

When it's that cold, it's hard not to talk about it. The photo of the bulls is so funny. Are your pups usually this chummy?

oops...steers!

I really chuckled at your picture of Pancho and Cisco - a two dog night . . . it's finally warmed up to zero here this morning. Daisy and Beau spent the night at our house last night, and believe me, two German Shepherds in bed would really keep you warm. Unfortunately there wouldn't be room for Ole and I if I allowed them on the bed - even in our king-sized bed. You sure don't have much snow on the ground judging by your picture. We've got about 12 inches on the level here and that's more than I care to deal with. Stay toasty, okay? And I think YOU need to keep those little puppers warm instead of vice versa (chuckle).

A two dog night - how cute! I have a chihuahua, too, and altho I'm in Texas, she shivers all the time. I bought her sweaters but she won't wear them. She rubs on the side of the couch until they peel off like a sock. She sleeps with my son under the covers. He likes her keeping him warm! Cute pics!

your pups are too funny.

Now honestly, do they really stay in the dog bed or do they sneak into your warm, cozy bed in the wee hours of the night?!

Well...there are some positive things about the cold...

You get to snuggle..

You get to take some interesting photos..

You get to eat luverly comfort food..

You might be lucky enough to be able to sit in front of a roaring fire and drink hot cocoa..

And most importantly.. You can always add layers to stay warm. When it's hot, there are only so may layers that you can take off and still stay decent!! :-)

Brrrr ... cold yes, but wow, I love the top photo in this post -- very beautiful and evocative. I didn't know about your pair of cute dogs -- another sweet photo there! We have two cats, Jack B. Nimble and Emma Lou Lilypad, both of whom annoy my husband because they prefer to curl up on HIM on the coldest nights. Apparently he gives off more body heat. :-)

Never boring is right.

Just rainy here (4 inches today). We are expecting even more tonight and tomorrow. I just glad we don't have the cold too. That would be a mess!

I think the thermal drapes are over priced (then again, I'm really cheap). Do you have a JoAnn fabrics near you? it's wayyyy cheaper to get the black out liner there and easy-peasy if you have your curtains hung with clips (or real quick to just sew across the top).
it's frigid here in western NY and my old house with the drafty windows is much more comfy with the liners!
