Taffy Apple Sundaes

Fall is my favorite time of year. One of the reasons is the abundance of fresh apples from the local orchard. There are all types of wonderful desserts made with apples and today I'm going to show you a very easy dessert, called Taffy Apple Sundaes.

First, find some nice serving bowls. I have some wonderful pressed glass bowls from Goodwill that are just the perfect size.

Next we're going to need some apples. Normally I use Granny Smith apples but today I'm going to use what I have on hand.

Cut the apple into bite size pieces.

To assemble the sundae we're going to need vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, chopped apple and Spanish peanuts.

Put several scoops of vanilla ice cream into the serving bowl.

Sprinkle with chopped apple.

Drizzle caramel sauce on top.

You can heat the caramel sauce if you wish, but it tends to melt the ice cream really fast.

Sprinkle with a good dose of Spanish peanuts.

Dig in!!

These peanuts weren't salty enough for my taste. I like that sweet salty taste of a real caramel apple.

This would be fun to serve if you're having a Halloween party.

You make me so hungry so early in the morning.....Lately I've been eating apples like crazy. Buy a tub of carmel and eat away....I'll have to try that. I love the fall, time for carmel popcorn too. So I will be gaining some weight this week......very good....

Delicious! But here I am stuck at work till the end of the day - far from anything except a Subway, and the jar of candy corn on my co-workers desk!
I am so glad you enjoyed the books, I hope that they provided a brief escape from the ridiculous bureaucratic suffering you have recently had to endure. Hugs from me too.

Don't suppose you have a great caramel recipe?? I can't buy thick caramel sauce here in Norway like you get in the states. They have something caramel like but it's very thin...ugh..This looked wonderful and I LOVE candied apples...mmmm...

BTW - I want to mention that I live only about 10 miles from Hershey, PA. Chocolate World! The association I work for has our big convention at the Hershey Lodge every year. You get a Hershey Bar with the room key.

I love this dessert! What an awesome idea! I'm heading to the store anyway so I think I'll pick up ice cream, peanuts, and caramel. I already have plenty of apples on hand.

I love your blog. I found you in the aqua poppy portfolio. :D

What an incredible idea for a sundae! As one who never turns down ice cream ~ my absolute weakness ~ I would definitely order one of these. Many thanks

Purchasing memory cards is such a time consuming process... You have to Google prices, sort through which ones are genuine, around a bunch of stores, compare prices, finally buy your memory, and then fervently pray that the price doesn't fall in the next 2 weeks or so.

I've been done in by some ridiculous price drops in the past... especially this one time when I bought a Micro SD card for my R4 gaming flash card at what I mistakenly assumed was a steal, only to later see that it fell by $5 in a week.
