One for the Body, One for the Soul

I want to thank everyone for the kind and supportive comments over the past few days. I know that some of you are dealing with chronic illness issues, either personally or helping a loved one cope.

Chronic illness is never easy but I cannot say it's the worst thing that's ever happened to me. I've always had a positive attitude and it's served me well in my lifetime. It was a personal decision to focus on my life and not my illness, vowing to do whatever my doctor suggested but letting everything else go. Worrying about something never, ever changes the outcome.

Unfortunately, one of the more difficult challenges is something called peripheral neuropathy which makes it difficult and painful to walk. Most shoes turn into instruments of torture. Yesterday I needed to run some errands and I seriously needed to find some cushy new shoes.

I ended up with two pair. One for the body.....

and one for the soul.

I may never actually wear the red heels, but they were on sale at a ridiculous price. I figured they were a good buy even if the only time I wear them is to look in the mirror and smile.

My friend at Life in Red Shoes would realize the importance of this exercise. She's the one that made me love red shoes. Get yourself a pair. It will do your soul good.

They're both so cute! Love the red heels, but the ones that are cushy look great, too. Hope that you are feeling better with each passing day and that this recent flare will soon be a thing of the past.

Enjoy your Sunday! (We're pondering a picnic...)

I'm a big believer that everyone needs to have at least one pair of sassy red shoes.

Love them! Feel good!

A girl has to have the right shoes, and those red babies are SO worth it, even if only to look inthe mirror and smile!

They make me smile!

Every girl needs a pair of reds shoes even if they are just for wearing while sitting on the sofa and propping your feet up on the coffee table :)

Hope you are feeling better

Wearing red shoes is Life Altering. Wear them in good health, and let them pick you up in bad. Much love, Red Shoes

The perfect balance between the necessary and the necessary. Just depends on how you define necessary.

Yes, I have shoes like your red ones that I don't wear very often, but they do make me feel better. :) The other ones look very similar to a pair my sister-in-law just got. Do they have a very cushiony sole, and no backs? They look so comfy, and I am all about comfort!

Oh but Suzanne, my Mum always says "Red shoes, no knickers!" so I've never been able to go there! Perhaps having recently turned 40, I may need to shake off this hang up - what the heck, keep them guessing huh?!

Hope you are feeling much better. XX

So sorry to hear about the pain you are suffering. Definitely, try on your red shoes now and again...we all know that you are most certainly a red shoe kind of a gal!!

Take care,

I have only been a lurker to your wonderful blog but today I wanted to leave you a comment. I have fibromyalgia and recently have had to change my footwear choice. I have found that Privo's are great for our achy feet. They even have some heels that are cushy inside. For our anniversary on Monday, hubby got me two new pair...flats but oh are my feet happy! I agree with how you handle your lupus as just another part of your life.
Have a great day!
Kim
